You are not allowed to attack someone based on who they are, their gender, race, etc. Deb happens to be extremely knowledgeable in the trucking industry and has been by her husband through a lot of crap. People here have attacked your pompous toned posts. You have been called out for what you have said, not who or what you are.

If you work for a company that slip-seats drivers, find a different job. If not, request a truck that has not been smoked in. If you can't do that, good luck in the industry. You have to have a spine and stand up for yourself or you will get nowhere. Attacking a wife of a trucker with sexist, offensive and irrelevant comments does not show me you have a spine.

Now. Go on ahead and tell me I should be in the kitchen making frybread and green chili. I'm waiting...

Or any other heavy equipment, cooking implement, sharp object, etc... just don't irritate a woman at all!

Wow, reading this as well as another recent thread about smoking makes me glad I am a smoker. Seems there's a lot of bitter non smokers out there who really need something to help them calm down and relax.

Looks like you might be safe if you hire on in the state of Ohio, but I don't know if they enforce that law. Intrastate? Probably. Interstate? Not as likely. Or you can relocate to Ontario, CA (that's Canada), they do have a ban on smoking in trucks. Good luck to you, eh?

I looked and looked and couldn't find any trucking company here in the states that advertises non-smoking......go figure? But I'm sure you can ask when you apply with them, and be sure to make your demands known at that time.

On another note: If your purpose was to genuinely seek employment with a company that prohibits smoking, you went about it the wrong way. I believe your intent was to incite others, in particular, smokers, but this is just my perception of your post. Had you gone about it in a different way, you might just have received a more positive outcome. Next time you might just want to omit the adjectives you used and replace them with more benign ones, ones that others won't readily take offense with.

    Avoid things like:

    It's all in the delivery.

Oops, got to go......my biscuits are done.......kind of like this thread.

It's not enforced or followed though. There have been a couple of people charged with it. In one case they fought it and charges were dismissed, not sure what happened in the other one. But I can assure you that no company (ok, there could be some but I haven't heard of them) actually expects their drivers won't smoke in the truck.
