What large non asset based motor carrier do you know of? Can you please list any LARGE motor carriers that you've worked with that accept owner operators.

A non asset based carrier would have no trucks with their name on them. That would make them a 3PL or broker.

That would be asset light. The term asset is not based on "accounting" terms.

To clarify, you're looking for a trucking company with no company trucks correct? Landstar and Mercer come to mind

Just like it says here, Landstar is an asset light carrier. The brokerage,3PL, ect are non asset based.

Lot of conflicting terms. Like FMCSA definition of employee vs IRS definition.
For a broker to be asset based they have to have carrier authority under the same MC#
Though they are starting to term asset light brokers, 3PLS's that have a warehouse/crossdock facility.
