The many complaints I hear from truckers on and off this forum has bought me to ask you guys the Otr drivers, do you currently enjoy your occupation you have chosen? Let me and others know exactly why. Thanks!
Do you like driving otr?

I would not be doing it if I didn't like it.
I am still a new driver, less than 6 months. But so far the lifestyle agrees with me.
I love to drive the open highway, see new places, the control over my own destiny.
I don't like being stuck at a terminal waiting for repairs, but that is also part of the job.
As is putting up with rudeness on the road (both by 4-wheelers and 18's) and with shippers/receivers, and maybe DM's (not mine, though).
But I am the mellow sort, and can go with the flow.
This job and I were made for each other.
Of course, I've thought that about every wife I have had as well.
And this job is truly like being married.
Maybe I won't screw this one up.

Yep so far I do...
So much of the complaining you hear can be avoided with some common sense, courtesy and a strong dose of civility.
Don't get ms wrong, I do get angry; however, I try to keep it in the truck and off the CB. -
Yes, I don't like waking up in the same place as yesterday. It bores me.

I love driving OTR......being in a different place everyday, new challenges to overcome......gives me a sense of accomplishment.

yes I do. Even after 30 years I love it !

I loved being a sitework driver. Being an OTR driver, not so much. I don't enjoy life on the road, I'm not as keen on being away from home as I used to be, I'm tired of dealing with "adults" who act like a bunch of overgrown children.. sorry, but by your 30s, 40, 50s, etc., you should have learned how to shake off adolescence already.. I love driving, and there's even a thing or two I like about OTR, but, overall, I'd have to say no.
