I can't sleep cause Im gonna get a job there. (Not really). I heard that most all swift keys to their trucks are the same. So locking the doors wouldn't keep another "bad" swifty out of your cab?

At A previous job gave my boss a official notice of my intention of leaving he told me " Well if you don't want to be here , I don't want you driving my truck. You might as well go clean your truck out right now, and I'll print up your resignation papers."

No thanks for the notice, wish you well, gonna miss you, or hate losing a safe reliable driver that had been with you for 9.5 years.....

Just return truck at terminal, clean out on home time have terminal manager sign off on you returning said truck, and company issued equipment in satisfactory condition.

In the words of Judge Smails " I owe you nothing" or George Costanza "Flame on"

So no exit interview? You would think they would be curious or try to see what it would take to keep you.

They know what they're doing wrong, & don't care. Plenty more newbies out there. Plus you have to pay experience, and company doesn't get that big gubbamint subsidy for hiring and training new drivers

Depends who you are and how long you've been there. It's not an exit interview per se, but you may get a call from someone in upper management.

When you go through town and see all the homeless, many of them gave their trucking company 2 weeks notice and were left there. Prob true.

I worked for a small company once that the manual said if you did not give 2 week notice, they would keep half of you last pay check. This was in Michigan.

This kinda stuff just gets me fired up. This is 100% a violation of federal wage and hour law. These companies think they can do this kinda crap and we'll just roll over and take it.

As for the OP giving notice, every situation is different and you probably know in your gut what is best for you to do. I'd just say to plan carefully, keep your head on straight and don't knee jerk a decision fueled by stress, fatigue or something else gnawing at you. Good luck.

Personally; I would give it in writing and keep a copy for myself or a screenshot of it..

no two week notice give a two week notice once you go home. The watch your miles will boom in the furthest direction from you house or terminal. They will put you In the very expensive flights and or long bus ride home.
