Do you need your birth certificate to get your permit?

yes, in my state it MUST be presented BEFORE they issue you that permit, even for a ordinary driver's license..

and that birth certificate MUST be a state certified one, as itll have a serial number on it.

i think (at least here in my state) i got mine thru the Dept of Health, vital statistics division, and cost (if i recall) $10.

check with YOUR state's vital statics dept.
