If that's true, then that's the epitome of working harder instead of smarter.

It's easily possible. If you'd quit looking for lot lizards and keep it rolling...

9.8, 9.9, 9.8, and a 7.5 from the Russian judge who wishes he made this troll thread first.

That 1 mph extra is useless when you factor in traffic, construction, stoplights, etc. Company I used to work for did a study where two trucks did a coast to coast run. Same route, same departure time, but one ran 65 and the other 60. They arrived at the destination within 30 minutes of each other.

Anecdotally, I generally leave my 2nd drop of the night at the same time as another of our drivers. He's a balls out, hammer down type. 120 mi. from Ft Wayne to Indianapolis, and the only times we don't hit the gate at the same time is when I stop for a whizzer. Morning traffic on 69 is a great equalizer. Sometimes I'll get off the interstate and sneak around the traffic by a route he doesn't know (thanks P&D experience!). It adds a few minutes to my total but a lot less than he spends fighting the rush. It drives him absolutely crazy to see me aleady fueled and packing up to go home when he's just arriving after leading the whole way down.

We have a driver, he seems like a good guy, he got out of jail or prison, did a year at Carolina Cargo and then Crete hired him.
I asked him if it was that bad at Carolina Cargo and he just shook his head and wouldn't answer that, but he did say they gave him a chance when no one else would.

Holland enterprises. Actually we can do 70 but we only get 30 minutes a day of 70. Use that to pass the 1mph slower trucks then drop back down to 65

All these points are going to be moot when they covering your trucks to 65 miles an hour and fine anybody in the left lane running over 65

It seems (from this thread and conversations in driver lounges and the radio) that drivers in trucks under 65 feel it's OK to pass any vehicle going slower. While guys in faster trucks or especially guys with triple digit trucks think it petty

I'm at 64 and I'll pass anything going 63 or less. Now I don't cut off drivers in the hammer lane. Usually If it's gonna be a snail race I wait for a hill either up or down depending on how heavy I am verse them

I feel like being in a slow truck gives u the mentality that the speed you're going is the absolute minimum u can run. City traffic, construction, 2 lane...hammer down. Something i realised and changed about myself, but see others do it all the time. It also doesn't make u feel bad for slowing the hammer lane when u wait 30 minutes to pass. Also I always slow down for guys creeping by me, because I hate creeping by others (especially Crete, those 63 mph turds)
