I've had rocks stuck between my tires before. Of course, I run in the oilfield, and some of these oil companies use rock that's way too big on their locations.
Anyway, I don't pick rocks out of my tire tread. It would be a full time job if I did.
Do you pry rocks from out of your tire treads?

Well, I'm not that anal that I pick pebbles out of the tread, but when I ran a dump truck off road, I'd pick up some big ones in between the duals. Sometimes, I'd have to take a chain to get them out. I was following a dump truck once, and a rock came out of his duals, I saw it and swerved, and it hit the car behind me. But pebbles in the tread, hey, broken windshields are just part of driving.( and auto glass companies know that) I'm sure I've cracked a few in my life.

Yes and only bc I've had a guy follow me, call my company, and wait until I was parked to talk to me rocks that hit his new car.
If a few seconds of me picking a rock or two out of my drives saves me from interacting with joe public, I'm doing it.tscottme Thanks this. -
I used to do it when I was bored. Now work for a company with a gravel yard. There is no point.

I do it because of the "ounce of prevention means a pound of cure" thing.
Also, why help keep the slip-and-fall lawyers busy?tscottme Thanks this. -
A friend taught me years ago to look for nails, screws etc. daily! I catch a lot of them, if they are into the tire I plug them right then! I probably have well under half the tire problems as most drivers!
It helps that I go around the truck with a heavy tire thumper every fuel stop, shipper/receiver, and at the beginning and end of the day!
As far as rocks, I'll dig some of them out! -
I AIM FOR Cadillac's, ANY Japanese car and/or, as last resort, Mercedes will do!!!! -
I pick rocks from the tire tread during pre trips because I wouldn't want them flying up and hitting my pickup truck or motorcycle. The rock I pick out may be the one that hits YOUR vehicle...
Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
Yes. While you are inspecting to see if any damage to tires. Everyday at least once. I have removed large stones from between my duals. Truck and trailer.
It could be a key tip for some DOT, thinking if you can't remove those little stones what else won't you do.
Good Luckbluerider Thanks this.
