That may be the issue with the speedometer but the real issue is why in the hell is someone trying to pass when traffic is flowing the guy in front of you is going just a wee bit slower?

I had this happen a lot of times but the other day I am coming back home from taking a trip 30 miles west of me on I94, and there is trucking wars going on most of the way there between three different trucks, all of them seemed to be limited to 60 to 62 mph. They just had to pass each other and it was getting stupid, but also dangerous. Once they hit the scales, they pulled in and I noticed they had two cars follow them in, I assume to talk to the MSP officers about this.

I'm one of those guys who blows past you at 75+, but at my previous job my rig was governed at 63. Whenever there is a log jam or somebody stuck out in the passing lane I alwasy back off and let them over. It's just not worth blocking a lane for that long so a guy can go 1 MPH faster. The ones who really tick me off are those who decide to pass at the bottom of a grade and wind up falling behind who they're trying to pass. They don't plan their moves very well.

Being governed at say 63 which sucks but it sucks more when you approach a 62 mph truck and you have to back off and reduce to their speed if you don't pass. but now you're staring at the back of that truck for who knows how long. so you slow down more to see ahead better and increase your following distance, only to have another trucker going slightly faster pass and move in front of you, thus causing the same thing to happen again. You back off once again, to increase your view ahead and following distance. Timewise, individually, not a lot... but add it up over the length of a day and you might see that you lost like 20 or 30 minutes or 20 or 30 miles whichever way you want to look at it..

When does it end? it ends when I decide to pass the 1 mph slower truck.

    That's when it ends...

There's always going to be a truck (either by choice or by policy) 1 MPH slower than you and there's always going to be a truck 1 MPH faster than you, no matter what speed we're discussing.

I don't understand why the moron in the Camaro, if he was going to pass from the median, didn't just floor it and get by the truck. He pulls up alongside the truck quickly and then hesitates then cuts sharply to the right. Car definitely had more power than he had brains or driving ability.

What ever happened to him? Squished by the TT or squashed by the justice system?
