I've called on drunk 4 wheelers, and one time I was coming back from Desert Moines with my family. I drive a car the way we want them to. I don't hang around trucks, especially with my family in the car. so I was passing a Stevens fast enough. I saw the vehicle in front of him, and j new he wouldn't have to kick it out of cruise before I was passed. About 10 feet behind him, he turned on his blinker the same time he changed lanes. You betcha I called!
I've also called to protect a driver. While in Brooklyn, I saw a Jevic make a left. as his trailer swung, some idiot decided to open his door, and the trailer caught it, almost tipping the car over. I called Jevic to let them know I saw what happened, and I would testify that the car driver opened the door into the truck. -

Actually there are alot of Drivers that drive like a Champ all the time.
The scenerios you describe are NOT definitions of a Bad Driver and are highly exaggerated, since they are normal occurances that can one can experience on a daily basis.
A Bad Driver is someone who has no blatant respect for the Rules and Laws of the Road, and is a danger to the Motoring Public and themselves, those type of Drivers drive like a Chump.Last edited: Dec 18, 2016

I called 911 once on a possible drunk. A county mounty got him about 5 minutes later. I like to think that using the military alphabet while readin off the tag number played a part in expediting that.
I reported a school bus driver once to his company. I was stuck behind this fool going 10 mph under the speed limit on a 2-lane for about 12 miles. By the time I did finally get next to him I could see why. He was too busy yapping on his telephone.
Like @Moose1958 pointed out, there is a distinction there. One was an annoyance, while the other was a danger.Toomanybikes and JReding Thank this. -
Nice work, and a good idea keeping the scalehouse numbers handy. Unfortunately, that wouldnt work well here in Washington. At night, there are literally no scales open southbound unless they're doing one of the DOT emphasis campaigns. Northbound is only slightly better, with the only scale open being the south port of entry near La Center, 16 miles inside the border.
I always try the radio as well, first to get the driver's attention if I can, then to warn others, and flashing my lights at the driver, but I haven't had that work yet. -
You're not seriously trying to compare pulling over to check on a driver with either reckless/aggressive drivers, or tired drivers or possible DUIs? How can any of those compare to what you described, one driver pulling over to check on another driver's welfare?
Do you consider reporting dangerous drivers to be "snitching"?speedyk, QuietStorm and not4hire Thank this. -
I do and don't give a crap what others think. I also get video of their driving, especially speeding 15 over. I don't care to be in another accident or have my drivers get into one.
BUT on the other hand my manager has strict instructions that if anyone calls (especially the one of the companies I least with) and complains about a driver, he is to contact my the second he hangs up with that person, fill me in on the problem and I deal with it. Sometime it has been one of my former drivers - had one speeding a lot but never caught - and I take it seriously.JReding Thanks this. -
How do you mount the phone for that?

How are you determining if they are going 15mph over the speed limit or is this just assuming?fargonaz Thanks this.
