Some of you guys need to drive your truck and worry about you and you only. Quit trying to drive everyone else's truck and car for them.

Amen. This topic always brings out the most preachy and self-righteous among us.

Put me down for minding one's own business.

It's just a guess of course. Weaving all over the road at bar close isn't going to far out on a limb, imho.

Granted, these days it's more likely to be just another idiot on a cellphone. Don't see too many drunks anymore.

The one I called on had passed 2 truck stops a rest area and a pullout. I know this because I passed him before he was to either of those. I felt great when I saw that bubble gum machine all lit up like someone just won the jackpot. It is drivers like this that are responsible for all the regulations we have today.

This driver could have been easily driving next to my grandchildren or yours. I don't care what his reasoning was to drive that truck but he should have not been on the road.

"No lives matter." I'm not sure it this is tongue-in-cheek, I hope it is. If not, then yes, we would be fundamentally different, and that would be a gross understatement.

"It's just un-American to go around tattling..." Tattling is something children do. When we're on the road, this isn't a child's game, people can die out here. "Knowing #### well you would have a different tune if it was you." I've watched drivers who clearly should be off the road drive right by the rest area and continue weaving from lane to lane down the road. At that point, it becomes clear that the driver is making poor judgment, and intervention is needed. And if I'm the one doing that, I hope someone else would try to get me off the road, and if that fails, report me. I don't have any more right to the road than anyone else.

"...and your career is ended by a tool with a cellphone..." How exactly would that work? I would more than likely be put out of service, yes, but how would my career be ended?

"What would I know about the other person's situation..." Irrelevant if that driver is presenting a danger to himself or others.

"Judge of the Road" No, just your average concerned driver. Again, you may be right that we are fundamentally different in at least this area. And making a judgement is simply making a decision. I'm not pronouncing a verdict. I think that might be what you're referring to, perhaps?

It's not about calling in every little thing, It is about the truly dangerous drivers out there. Like the one I called on last week. In the last 4 years that was the only one. People drift over lines all the time. Even I do it sometimes. But this was beyond a little drift and he was literally less than 2-3 feet off my trailer each time he drifted into my lane. I am not talking about the side of the trailer, I am talking about behind the left corner and I drive a freaking flatbed. He was close enough I could not even see his right fender and my load was only 8" tall and 20 feet long.

    This is sad to see.

When I'm on the road and see someone else who could endanger others on the road, you bet it's my business. Otherwise I'm just another bystander waiting for everything to unfold, and there's no virtue in that.

We went round and round about this topic a while back in another thread. I'm not going to bore everyone with that discussion again.

Suffice it to say that generations of parents aren't wrong. When they said "don't be a tattle tale; no one likes a tattle tale," they weren't wrong.
