I’m a owner operator and I work for a company. I hope that doesn’t happen but it’s a headache when it did happen. Pain in my ### to the point, I like ####!! Wish I didn’t have much in my truck.
I’m cover with insurance and others. But I hope she doesn’t test my love.

My truck sold today. And I'll be honest. I fought back tears watching it drive away. I felt lame. But that thing was my home away from home for 2 years

nope, never did. it's a tool, nothing more.

    an inanimate lifeless object.

be anyone an o/o or a company driver, it is not a love affair for me with any motorized vehicle.

one that buys a big rig, is tethered to it, till it is paid off. dumping money in it for fuel, insurance, repairs, or wait times at the dealership, how can anyone love such a thing?

you buy, you own, you drive

or...you go to work, get your keys, jump in and drive, job done

    nothing more.

I guess a more accurate term is, did you love the job? The truck is a direct representation of the driver and type of company they drive for. I always drove a clean truck, and in the midwest, that's no easy chore. When I was a company driver, I'd come in 15 minutes early, and blow the truck off. It may have gotten dirty in the 1st 10 miles, but I wanted it known and the boss to see, I left the yard with a clean truck. Believe it or not, there was a time when I DID love my job. The truck was whatever the boss told me to drive, and I made the best of it. Chrome lugnut covers and hub caps( maybe $15 bucks) showed the boss you weren't an average shmoe. To say you love something because you spend most of your time in something, doesn't mean you love it. Do dock workers love their forklifts? Office workers love their desk? I don't think so.

There is no pride in driving a forklift or a desk unless you run the show.

Got a '17 Cascadia with over a million miles. I own this truck and I do indeed love this truck! She's in good condition with just a few scratches and some peeling paint on bumper. Pretty sure the DT12 automated transmission is about to let go, but the DD15 is still strong as an ox.
I know what it will cost to inframe the engine and have a decent idea what the tranny will cost as I believe it will go first. Expensive for sure, but with the cost of used and questionable trucks I think I'll keep running her.
