Flatbed/open deck drivers? (This is in the flatbed forum)

Just go around them and "check in".

IDK, if I'm not ready, then I would expect to be placed at that back of the line.

I would like to wake them up, and even give them a hand to get ready, but I don't have the patience for anything "stupid" that may come out of thier mouth.

    I couldn't do it.

Whoever had to wake me up goes before me for sure.

You know how you have all of these geniuses in the industry nowadays who
    -refuse to use their mirrors
-refuse to properly preplan and have no problem blocking the exit at the truck stop
    -can’t read road signs
    -can’t think
-are self centered and have zero consideration for anyone else

Well usually your shipping/receiving will have their hours on the fence or gate. Genius can park right in front of the sign and still won’t preplan. If an adult refuses to wipe his arse, should you wipe it for him?

Depends on the scenario, Ive had drivers knock on my sleeper for various reasons.

In general I try not to knock on someones truck unless I absolutely have to.

I may honk the horn on try the cb before I approach someones truck esp at night.

I would see the airhorn as MORE DISRUPTIVE... esp. if there are OTHER GUYS staged, and sleeping. Somebody IS bound to have a .357 and a hair trigger finger..... imho!

I leave a note rolled up at the top of my window. Especially if i park at a closed gate where i will be blocking business.

"Pound on the cab when u need me to move."

I was in the marines, so bang bang bang makes me spring into a pair of boots ready to take orders as a knee jerk reaction, before i even know whats happening. Or have pants on.

Was his jail due to being drunk? It is illegal to be intoxicated and carry. However, if it was "parts" by the time he showed up. Then no law was broken. Except for the DUI in a CMV.

It's not illegal to carry as long as you have reciprocity. I myself as well as my drivers exercise our 2nd everyday.

As far as waking a driver. ABSOLUTELY NOT your responsibility. I'm pretty sure had the shipper/receiver done their job and unloaded the driver in under 30 minutes (a trained forklift operator can do it in 10). This would have EASILY been avoided.

Dont know about the rest of you fellas, but this is why a mandatory 165.00/hour Federal detention rate needs to be law. Especially with respect to ELD mandate. Its 130-150/hour to work on one. Should be to hold one up.
