For the second time Ive personally seen, a driver dropped his trailer in the yard, literaly. Went to pull out of the drop yard, truck left, trailer went right. He claimed he did the tug test, looked at the locking jaws, n the handle before he pulled out. His wife also said she checked it. Trailer was damaged in the process. This wasnt a newbie, this was either a O/O or a L/O with an ACE-1 lease, cause it wasnt a regular truck number. Always remember to do the checks. Atleast he dropped it in the yard n not out on the interstate

    MikeyB. Thanks this.

Not good ....can save time money and embarrassment by simply doing what you are expected to do....a mfg defect is another conversation

i am OBSESSIVE about a tug test....when i fuel (even being right there i go around to the right side...i dont know if someone pulled it while i was topping off right tank) so before i pull up to fuel reefer, i do a tug test, then after i fuel the reefer, then before i pull up to get fuel rec., then after i get fuel rec., if i have been parked for 2 min, if i get out to walk dogs, HAVE A I MADE MY POINT????? lol... ALWAYSSSSS DO YOUR TUG TEST, BE OBSESSIVE ABOUT IT!!!!! when i hook to a new trailer...before i get out and hook up my lines, DO a tug test, then AFTER all hooked up and ready to go, do another one.....for real ....thats how CB and i both handle it.....i would rather over do , than make a mistake.....
