Two days = 48 hours, Twenty hours does not make 48...

You will gain only what you rolled off the eight day at midnight... if you ran 11, then you get back 11.

so for your to get 10.5 you cannot run for 48 hours, but when you hit 34 hours you just did a reset and get your full 70 back... so you need only sit for 34.

I had a really tough time making friends with the logbook. Apparently, there was a mental block there, that just wouldn't let me past it.
I asked for help from a number of drivers. I asked for help from safety. All were very willing to work with me, but I just couldn't get my thick head wrapped around it. I'd think, OK, now I understand it. And get called in to "correct" my logs. I hated that, because it went from trying my best to do it right, to flatly figuring out what they needed to say to get past the safety dude's computer.
Then I stumbled across an online log program. It cost a few bucks, and the company would not accept those logs. So I'd run the log program, then hand copy to the paper logbook. Eventually, I began to get it.
Had no problems with this at the scales, because I kept the computer program updated to my last change of duty status. If DOT wanted to see a paper copy, I'd just print it out for them.

What about night, or are you suggesting it's an implied subset of day?

Why is everyone ignoring the fact that he took the load while unable to make the delivery?

Keep track of what you are doing and your hours. If they give you a load you can't do, refuse and tell them why. They will either arrange for a relay, change the appointment time, or give you something you can do.

They all know now that if they "punish" you for refusing, it's their arse in the fire. the 70 sucks, but be smarter that the 70 and make it work for you.
