Ok, I had to drill two holes through the aluminum, on each side of the nut. Ran long 1/4” bolts through, with a nut on each and used a puller. Came of fairly easy. Thanks guys.

I am glad you posted this as it made me remember something I have in my Grandfathers tool box. Does this look like a steering wheel puller or something else?

Depending on the wheel, it might get it done. It’s just a generic 2-finger puller. Good for pulling many things.

I guess it could pull some steering wheels but that’s just considered a 2 jaw puller. Used mainly for steel pulleys on straight or tapered shafts. Got a couple of those and also 3 jaw pullers.
