Does any of this seem reasonable? Cost to run a 3500...

Are you looking to be in the oilfields or an LTL carrier? In the oilfields the typical is a 25k to 30k gvwr 40' flatbed, LTL which is also nicknamed hotshot but it's really just LTL, the common in 35' + 5' dovetail 25k to 30k gvwr. Wouldn't go over 25k unless you have a 4500-5500.
This is just an observation. -
Need a class A license to run a class 7 or 8 truck tractor though.

Just depends on what type of hotshot work you're planning on doing. I'd say the industry standard though is to have 40' of loadable deck space.
My company only uses 40' lowboys. We find they're more versatile than the typical deckover hotshot trailer. That and they weigh less. Weight is everything in this business.
Here's a picture of the style trailer we use. You wouldn't want one like this for doing oilfield work.

Those are the 21,000 gvwr trailers right? Or do y'all have the upgraded axles with .5 wheels?

Our trailers have a GVW of 24,999 lbs.
