I thought if there are jobs for operating transportation by land for commerce, there must be ones for that of by sea.
Does any one know how to apply for these kind of jobs? I don't know what to search to find the right forum to ask questions to.
Does any one know how to become a driver for trading-ships?

the seaports in of themselves may not actually hire the drivers, but companies either located nearby the ports, (or on port property) would probably do so.
but i do believe they would still want "some experience" and you haven't even started school yet...... i think you are "closing in on" one year of being here asking questions, but yet haven't seemingly worked at getting your license. i think also in at least one posting, you claimed to be at least 21.....if so, why are you still not attending school for a driver's license..??
this would lead me to believe you ARE NOT old enough to even start school, and the questions you have been asking over the (nearly past) year now, will change as the answers will be changing given current events. for the life of me, anyone WANTING to be a driver, WOULD HAVE FOUND a way to get to school and get it done......
you have gone far too long now, not doing anything but be here asking questions that we answer, but you do not seem to be too interested in actually getting a license, or are WAY TOO YOUNG...
which is it......???
too young, not actually interested, what....???? -
I didn't mean driving trucks, I meant driving a ship that exports and imports from foreign countries.
-
you would need to know nautical procedures, this would take way too long. you ain't gonnabe a captain from the get go, unless you buy yourself a dinghy.....or get in with a band of pirates and hijack a boat, which then, you'd have to fight off the other pirates for control.
i guess you don't wannabe a truck driver anymore...???
you NEED to settle on something, you ain't getting any younger..
that is of course, if your still a teen (or even a pre-teen) in school, because now i highly doubt your level of education, and your age.SheepDog Thanks this. -
Do u know what the job title is called?
-
lupe, they are way ahead of you on this deal. They got schools and everything LOL
Google Maritime Schools, better yet try this link http://www.maritime-connector.com/C...merican-Maritime-faculties-and-schools.wshtml
Seriously, I live in Kansas where there is no water. You live in Detroit on a Great Lake and you dont know this stuff? Drive a ship? Nice...SheepDog Thanks this. -
You don't drive ships. You pilot them.
There are some Maritime schools. You need a good education to start from before being able to become a ships officer. Math and sciences are big on the list as are good grades. Honour roll level grades are mainly preferred. Even just becoming a ships hand is not as easy as becoming a truck driver. Ship operations have levels of standards that trucking does not.
Good luck on whatever you choose. -
Don't think that's your next profession some how!Rerun8963 Thanks this. -
Lupe,
