Does anybody use a portable tire inflator?

As some one else said at least it’s reasonable if you have a battery. Can always put it in a personal vehicle.

 

A compressor needs to be able to supply 10 more psi then what you are trying to get. If it can’t then psi will equalize and compressor will stop pushing air in. If that portable can only make 100 then you will be lucky to get 100 in a tire. If a tire has more psi in it than the compressor can charge the tire can actually loose its air into the compressor tank that is trying to fill it and equalize. That is why sometimes it takes a long time to fill a tire with even a glad hand set up on a truck compressor. Tire Shop air has to be set at 135-140 minimum to inflate 16plys at 120.

 

Yeah I know still won’t stop me from trying though. lol. Should be good on drives and trailer though.

 

Needs good volume for speed. If it makes the psi then it should inflate. It’s just a matter of how long it will take if it doesn’t have good volume. Maybe hook it up and watch a 30 min show on tv instead of sitting next to it cussing because it is taking 30 mins per tire. Lol.

 

I’ll stick with my 40’ hose and truck compressor.

 

Yeah. Those type never work good for anything bigger then a mower/ golf cart turf tire or wheel barrow tire. They are just made for nail guns and things like that that can work at lower psi’s.

 

It’ll get to about 110-115. Or I’ll swing by a shop or loves fast lane thing and pay for it. Can’t fuel there but it’s worth the couple bucks for my convenience.

 

Those work great but they are geared more towards the off road crowd. Keep in mind the 33” tire they mention is a light truck type and usually has a max psi of 65 psi. Bigger truck tires are gonna need more air volume to make that same pressure.
