I understand all of that, but if you look at the specs on that ISM I AM running at the bottom, Also if you pull up the specs on the DD13 you will see that I AM in or maybe even a bit ABOVE it's sweet spot.

Keep in mind these DD13's have nothing, not one interchangeable internal part in common with your S60, also the power curve, is completely different.

The "sweet spot" on these new trucks engines, ALL of them, is considerably lower than the older motors.

Does the ISM truck have a dpf?? I'm thinking exhaust back pressure could be part of it...

We have the cruise set at 70 and there is another 2 mph available on the foot feed for getting around another truck. These trucks/drivers average 3500 per week and probably 90% of all miles are interstate.

Yeah, all trucks including the Pete are 2010, so they all have dpf's

Well if they're governed at 70 you shouldn't be having that many problems as long as the transmission matches up with your gear sets for cruise rpms. then again I know you gross lighter than most but 3.42s out back if you're running o/d transmissions definitely don't help matters. My trucks got 3.42s and there's 600 horse and 2050 on the tq.

I agree. I also don't understand it, on top of this as I said, the Pete and the Cascadias are running the exact same tranny's with the same ratio, both overdriven tenth gear, they are also all running the same exact tire, BFG 22.5 Also these trucks are never idled as they all have electric apu's.

You got me. Right after I posted what I did, I thought how goofy it was to say something about your vocabulary, while something I wrote got blanked out. In my own defense, the word I used was "Jack***", or another word for "donkey".

Anyway, if I was in your position, I would demand satisfaction from the engine manufacturer. Put the info you posted here in front of them, and let them try to justify the poor performance of their product.

Don't worry, I am fully aware of how it is dealing with Truck and Engine manufacturers after they have your money. The truck people say it is a problem with the engine, and the engine people say it is a problem with the truck. It stinks to spend money on a product, and get less than you should.

When I earlier stated about all the engines being good, I meant to say they are good, considering all the hoops the makers are forced to jump through by the government. Today's diesels put out about 10% of the pollution that engines did when I was a kid. But no matter how clean they become, the government comes along and demands more.

Why do you think CAT got out of the truck engine business? They know that with the current regulations, the best motor they can build will not be anything to be proud of. Marine applications, and heavy equipment engines are not held to the same regulations, so CAT can still put out good motors in those environments. In big trucks, the EPA is used by the government to regulate the industry to death.
