Just to confuse some more, in my Avatar you will see (a much fatter) me standing in front of a B-Triple. This is a B-Double with a 2nd lead trailer, 2 x A Trailers as pictured in my last post

 

Aussie 'triple' road train = triple meaning 3 trailers

 

This is a 'double' road train (2 trailers) pulling a B-Double. I photographed this up the top of Western Australia, they cart iron ore. Note the tri-drive prime-mover (tractor)

 

I hope all this makes sense, and helps with the 'disconnect in terminology'

 

Bus & Truck Transport Magazine is Australia based. Quick search online lead’s me to believe you can purchase old editions.

 

Cool and all but the original post specifically mentioned ''A'' Trains.

If he returns, I am sure he will explain what he is after. I am thinking he has confused 'A-Trains' with 'B-Trains', but I can't be sure

 

This is the converter dolly we were talking about. That’s how most doubles are pulled here in the states.

 

Around here the lead would have a pintle hitch with an air lock and 140.000 gross.
That looks downright scary to me.
