Does anybody have a Sprint Cellphone with GPS?

Wondering how it is working out for you.

    Thanks!

I think they are all the same. It is nothing more than software and network. Nothing propriety there. I have both Sprint and AT&T, iPhone. Works great. And the iPhone Apple tech is cool, as it runs off of radio repeaters to pinpoint ones location if in a non cell/gps area or big city.

Sounds like good advice, and I appreciate it.

May I ask a favor? All my directions for my job start with "From County Road____ and County Road ___ go east" (or south, or whatever).

But Mapquest and Googlemaps have problems recognizing the intersections.

If you have a Sprint GPS, will you try entering "county road 44 and county road 49" near Greeley, CO and just see if the gps recognizes the intersection?

I'm here now, but like I said, Mapquest and Googlemaps never did recognize the intersection.

Let me know if yours found it, will you?

    Thanks in advance

Are you using your laptop with an aircard to get directions? Or your cell phone?

Do you have a Garmin or TomTom type device? It sounds like you don't. Why not just ask Santa for one, they work great, and are getting pretty cheap.

I would go nuts using my iPhone for routing, but love my Garmin.

Normally I get my directions the night before on my desktop and print them out. So you would just go ahead and buy a separate GPS unit and not just add the feature to your phone?

God YES! I have all the toys in the truck. Printer, fax, internet, DirecTV, etc...

The Garmin, or whichever brand, is a life saver, and the one thing I would not get rid of. Worth every stinking penny. I have one with a 4.3" screen, it works great, very easy to see and read. Yeah, spend the money on one, you will not regret it.

And in regards to county roads. On my Garmin, I just type in the CR number, that is it. And 99% of the time it works.

And let me add this. Have you ever tried to find a street at night, in the rain and the street sign has been missing for ten years? Get the Garmin, or whatever unit. Saved my arse more times than I can recall.

That is what I love about these units. If you do miss a street, and yes, I do at times. I can at least work my way back in the most expedient manner. It is a huge money saver.

And the other nice thing, the feature I use the most, is the "miles to go". This helps on the trip planning end, which gives me the ability to really plan my trip. I can judge with 100% accuracy as to how much time I will need... say in the morning. I am 34 miles out, and it tells me I will arrive, if I leave right now, at 8:45 am. And you know what, the darn thing is usually within a minute when I hit the driveway.

    Priceless!
