Contact the people at Ooida.com, thats what they are there for. Owner Operators.

Check out Mcgriff, Seibels & Williams as well. Depending on you experience & they offer several options.

www.cmbrown.net Ask for Gabe. Many on here have worked with him and he will spend time helping you even if he doesn't write in your state.
Love OOIDA but if you are not happy with Progressive rates you will not like OOIDA.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
OOIDA is a joke and a B rated insurer that some brokers and shippers will not accept.

I just got a quote today from Sentry ins. for 1 trk.,3trl's.,unlimited radius,1 million liability,100,000 cargo for 5600 per year.
Ooida was two hundred dollars cheaper but as was pointed out some will not accept their ins.vangtransport and MNdriver Thank this. -
I'm getting quotes out of SoFla that are off the charts (no I haven't called your people yet 40glock). Been suggested I locate my biz outside of florida - but the difference in state taxes (income/personal property in neighboring states - FL has none) by establishing residency there - plus my corp being a Florida Corporation - kinda forces me to keep my license/etc. in Florida. The difference in insurance rates is offset by the hassle of establishing legal residency elsewhere (both monetarily & logistically).
Agent who writes for Travelers "soft quoted" me $12K out of S. Florida and 9K out of N Florida.
I'm waiting until the end of Nov (when the 3 year old at-fault-non-cmv accident, comes off my record), to really get serious about quotes & "alternative addresses".
OOIDA (a non-profit) doesn't write the insurance - a "for profit" corporation does - and it's a "risk group or pool", not (necessarily) the same kind of insurance that Progressive/etc. writes. All the "Majors" are actually "backed" by a larger "major" as far as financial backup goes.

They say huh? You sure...I say positive...one guy said learn somethin new everyday the other said All you have to do is say no not make up stories...go figure
