I am preparing to get my CDL here soon (I'll start school in about 3 weeks), so my dad and I are looking to to get a contract hauling asphalt and tar. We are seeking some advice, he hauls tar right now, (he's been a trucker since he was 16, we are from Jamaica) and we are looking to do our own thing. Any information would help, we are in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

    Thanks in advance!

Walk into the nearest construction company with 2 cases of beer and tell them you will work $5 an hour cheaper then the other trucks if they take all 5....

No, that’s a race to the bottom and it’s part of what keeps our wages low. Know your worth, but stay competitive. A rising tide lifts all ships...unless y’all keep poking holes in the boat.
