I have 2 questions.
I recently went to a trucking company school and wasn't too impressed. I won't get into the details of what happened, but needless to say, I didn't stick around to finish. I got a suggestion that the best way out was to tell them I passed out and they would send me home. I was a little concerned about being charged for the school. I know telling them a BS story wasn't the right thing to do but I didn't know what else to do. Will this come back to bite me in the butt if I apply with another company?
Also, how are bankruptcies looked at? Is that something most companies will look at on an application? Do they do credit checks?
Does bad credit keep you out of a driving job?

The better companies will check a applicants credits history to see what kind of people they are. I don't agree with it because just about every new young married couple is going to have a mark of their credit file or any young person for that matter. I asked that questioned to the big shots and they told me they don't want someone that is so far into dedt that he/she might starting thinking about stealing the loads. I think that was a cover up answer and here's what I think. When you have a pile of applicants they start eliminating in order. Like here's a pile of traffic tickets here's one for child support so on and so on. When they have the perfect record that driver is the winner. I think it's wrong but that's how the bigger companies do it. The best way is have a clean record and know someone.

Yea I kinda figured if someone had alot of debt it would look bad. But I wasn't sure how a bankruptcy would look seeing as how all the debt would be gone when the bankruptcy was finished. After the bankruptcy I won't have any debt, just the black mark of a BK.

your fico score is figured in to how appealing you are as a new hire for many companies..
but most companies that hire newbies do not care about that score - they just need warm bodies. -
Thanks for the responses. I guess I should ask if a company puts anything on the DAC report if someone starts one of their schools and then bails for whatever reason.

You really should only worry if you make it through the school, start working, then quit. Not quit before school is complete.

I know bad credit history will keep you from being qualified to haul some high security clearance gooberment loads.
