Maintenance fund for the truck washes.

How do you pull money out of the CRE maintenance fund to pay for tractor washes at the blue beacon? I usually can't afford to pay cash for that. Thanks ...

Based on what Ronin stated ... you just go in to BB, have them put it on the CRE account. When CRE reconciles the bill, they charge the maintenance account.

On a side note, that is a sad commentary, either on CRE or your business accume, that you can't afford $40 every 2 or 3 weeks to get a tractor wash .

    Injun Thanks this.

Well, somebody's lying because all the times I've asked road service or the ic department about using the "escrow" account for truck washes, I was always told the maintenance account wasn't there for washing the truck that it was for repairs only. Each time I noted that it was called a "maintenance" account, not a repair account and in my opinion, truck cleanliness was part of preventative maintenance but whatever.

I know this post wasn't directed at me but its not about not being able to afford blue beacon prices, its the fact that 40 bucks is a little steep for just a plain-jane tractor wash, but that's just me I spose. Id rather use a self-service wash like the one off I-40 at exit 20 right across from the flying hook in Sayre, Oklahoma.

corneileous, corneileous, corneileous ... are you not paying attention? You use CREs organizational dysfunctionality against them.

Don't be goin' and callin' road service, now ... their purpose in life is to keep you from spending your money anywhere other than at CRE.

Do what ronin did. Just go into BB and tell them to put it on the account. When BB submits it to CRE, it's clear that accounts payable doesn't know what road service's policy is ... so they just send to over to payroll to deduct from your maintenance account.

You can get a lot accomplished at CRE by not asking, but just doing. Chances are know one will know what to do and just let it go or make up thier own policy ... CREs back office people like to do that alot, just make up policy.

Oh, please ... you didn't just set me up with nice one, slow and down the middle, did you? Sorry, I've gotta swing at it.

I guess when you are content to only be running 4500 miles week, as a team, you have plenty of time to wash you own truck.

My 4500 miles was what it was, it was a dedicated run.. all 48... sometimes 4000 miles over a holiday weekend, or up to 6000 during a stronger week.. we ran at the mercy of PODS' operating hours and needs.

It was a great gig, just wish we'd made more money.

Come on man, they don't mind if you spend your elsewhere..... They got plenty of saps payin' for work at their shops.....

That's not the point, man. I don't want to find out the hard way and have them charge my settlement.

Besides, it wasn't only the road service department that told me that, it was the IC department that told me also.

Either I'm really tired or I have no idea what yer talking about......

Well, not really. Even if I wasn't content on running 4500 miles a week, you don't run tight loads all the time.

But it's silly to spend that kind of money on a truck wash. It's up there with payin' someone to replace your wiper blades for you or having someone else replace your burnt out headlight bulbs. IMO, the only reason so many people give blue beacon so much money for truck washes is because self-service washes are so hard to find. I only know of four of them and the one I mentioned before is one of them.

For the record, the BB washes were in the winter, translating to Feb/Mar/Apr in the Northwest.. in the better months, I washed my own truck, either in San Antonio at exit 583 on 10, or at across from Lisa's on 40 in NM (exit 197, I think) or at my son's house in Oklahoma City.

Olive branch, cornelious... but one final shot... my infraction wasn't on a thread involving you. Just hacking, it was Celadon, and was nothing like others were saying - whatever works, I guess.

Anyhoo, I won't argue with you any more.
