Does it do any good to tell the DM or Load planner what you want?

Miles! Miles! Miles! I ve seen it on the trailer haha thought it was funny. But for them its pleasing the customer not the driver. So, whatever they give you, that's the best thing you can do. Also get needed endorsements and drive to save fuel, and boom you are ultra triple time titenium driver on Swift standards.

I've gotten a week off a couple of times with this company. Unpaid of course. But like you said before, I try to work with them, so they will work with me.

Have you ever heard the saying "If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plan"? I feel like this applies here. Seriously though, like others posted, if you develop a good working relationship with your dispatcher and DM at a decent company, you'll get back what you put in. If you are dependable and are one of their Go-To guys then you should have no problem getting what you want. Then again I am sure it's a lot easier doing that on a small dedicated fleet rather than general OTR. Unless you are working for users and abusers, you should be able to have a little say in what you do and get runs you ask for but keep your demands realistic. Some days it's just not in the cards depending on how busy the fleet is. Also, please and thank yous go a long way.

In my experience with DMs/Dispatchers, they will usually ask you when you come onboard how and where you like to run. They will usually tell you upfront they cant guarantee you'll get everything you ask for but they will do their best to get you as much as they can.

If you do them a good job, they will do you a good job. Just need to keep in mind, they dont always get the loads they want from the planners either. So do them a good job on any load they give you and you will have a better chance of getting loads you want.

And your point is?? This is a forum, right? If you are "Picky" about who responds, get your info off the internet instead of coming in here bashing drivers. Thank you.
