Does it smell like gas in the truck?

Dude, the odor of diesel fuel on those parking lots is the LEAST of the odors!!
Sun-baked urine from the lazy arsed drivers who either won't walk inside to urinate, or empty their 5 day-old pee jug on the lot is the most prevailing odor.
Then there is the rotting-food smell from the same lazy arses who dump their garbage on the ground.

And, let's not forget the WORST offenders....those too lazy too go inside to poo....they poo in a bag, and then just drop the bag on the ground, and haul butt outta there.

Just letting you know some the different odors/hazards of a truck stop parking lot...:biggrin_2556:

I would rather smell fuel and cattle pots then some of those drivers who think that taking a shower is like an annual inspection requirement.......:biggrin_25521:

Is this a serious question? Do you intend to drive a truck? If so, and if these are serious concerns for you, then I suspect that you do NOT want to drive a truck. You'll be picking up flatbed freight from steel mills, wood from lumber mills, and the smell can be strong. You'll be forced to stop in Peelots and other filthy stinking truck stops where drivers pour their pee bottles on the hot pavement (ever smell that before?), if you are reefer and have to pickup at a slaughterhouse (try Smithfield in NC for some real Olfactory fun) you have to not only see the little piggies looking at you from the back of a trailer on their way to be turned into food, but you'll have to smell the rotting flesh and deal with the flies at the washout station...

I could go on and on and on. I'm guessing that trucking is not for you.

What about diesel smell? Do you have to smell diesel through the night if you sleep at truck stop, at least 50% of the time? 70%? 99%?

Also I heard you can sleep at malls, since people there assume you are there for another store if not for them. Can you do this almost every time without getting fined or kicked out?

What about sleeping at the sides of the roads and in Walmart?

    Diesel Exhaust
Diesel exhaust contains high levels of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. Over 40 toxic air contaminants have been identified in diesel exhaust including carcinogens such as benzene and arsenic.
    Gasoline Exhaust
Gasoline engines produce exhaust that contains nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

    Human Health
Air pollution can produce both short-term effects such as eye irritation, headaches and nausea as well as long-term effects like respiratory disease, heart disease and damage to the brain and nervous system.

The truck exhaust will effect you no more than your own car exhaust..less actually..(the routing IS BETTER AND SAFER)....unless you somehow rout it through you car to sleep better!!
It appears that you are nothing more than a troll....folks have spend their limited time to help you....to make valid points, and you act like a 8 years old boy, or maybe a California environmentalist (so smart you are stupid).
I don't mean to slam you personally, but it appears that you have an agenda, and your mind was made up before you started...so why waste peoples time?!
Exhaust is bad....but you don't breath it....it is routed up and dispersed with an exhaust system....remember the old Haz-Mat saying "The solution to Pollution is Dilution"....that line was removed from the training to make folks happy....but can you see the point. Diesel fuel is stored in a sealed tank....the exhaust is routed to a better location than a car...WAY UP IN THE AIR...NOT UNDER YOUR BUMPER TO KILL THE GUY BEHIND YOU!!
If you fail the critical thinking skills to get beyond these basic concept, I feel bad for yo, and you education level...but time to move on.
If you are truly thinking of becoming a driver...good luck!!
One question....do you ask people that work in nuclear power-plants if they are worried about 2 headed babies?!
