Holy crap guys! I'm not talking about the stupid D.O.T......I am talking about people giving their freedoms and rights away, one at a time. You have a RIGHT to privacy (apparently except in trucking where it is easy to get the people to give up that right).

I'm tired of hearing: "If you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about". YES YOU DO! You have to worry about which other right or freedoms are the mindless masses going to allow the country (and by country I mean Government and any/all other entities) to trample on.

Yes; I realize when you go to the mall....when you walk the city streets....when you drive through a tunnel or mountain over-pass, etc...there are cameras. And there are also cameras in the work place of many, many business'. But a truck is also your home, your sanctuary, the one place you'd expect privacy.

And I don't give a rats ### HOW the cameras are set up, HOW they record and/or when they record---they are cameras in MY "house", and that is invasion of my privacy by an outside party.

p.s.- Anyone, and everyone with a little knowledge in electronics, can activate a remote recorder and deactivate the little red light. Don't ever kid yourself on how the camera is 'set off'. They can "take a peek at you" any time they want with the push of a button.

awesome! I assume you were one of the first to own a copy of "one six right" ! (Still on my to-do list from 8 years ago, or whenever it went on sale,, but I *will* get it eventually)

I don't disagree with you at all, sir. But a company has every right to put them in their equipment. And the driver has every right to seek employment elsewhere if they don't like it.

I wouldn't tolerate cameras in the truck, its where I live.

I would find a different company immediately if they started using cameras.

With all the lame excuses, then apartments can have cameras installed inside cause its the right of the landlord, and you have nothing to hide, right?

On one side, if we all reject the cameras and move, then the companies would get a clue and stop using them. But the other extreme is all the companies use cameras so there is no option of moving to another company, only quitting the industry would be option.

You sound like Alex Jones. No insult, I listen to him too.

And you are absolutely right. Giving up your rights cause its no big deal leads into more rights given up. Obviously this path leads to free speech and right to bear arms, but yeah you get the point. We're already conditioned to be treated like we're guilty suspects, and to be groped by TSA. I guess its no big deal that some TSA guy fondles your wife and daughter, its for our freedom and safety, right? Its the ignorant mass easily fooled by MSM that is what is going to allow government to take away all our rights, for safety and freedom :(

I wouldn't want to, and while I still have the choice I won't, but you make a valid point; what are we supposed to do if every company begins using them or the government begins mandating them? There will always be somebody willing to take my job if I won't do it. And quite frankly I have a family to feed and no employable skills that will earn me what driving a truck does. I have been a libertarian since before it was the cool thing to do. I also served in the military. So I am well aware of the costs of freedom and it is certainly not that I want to give up any of my rights but my wife and kid won't go hungry so I can make a point either.

    We all do.
And "they" know that. And that is when the weak crumble and do what they are told, rather than "man up" and stick up for your rights.
Pathetic, that the strong have to kneel to the weak masses.

I can't order my Buffalo Wild Wings chicken wings by the dozen any more, because some cry-baby in Minneapolis noticed one wing is smaller than the other---so now the whole country has to order by weight.

I can't smoke in a bar any more, because some cry-baby in a cubicle somewhere at a Malibu, CA. office building didn't like the smell of it.

Should I keep going....or is my point setting in yet? MAN UP PEOPLE!!!!

Isn't all this camera in the trucks business a by product of the insurance company? And not the government?
It seems our lives are more controlled by insurance companies than anyone else. I'm just sayin.

Im sure if you do that you get fired. The cameras are there for a reason and if you violate company policy by disabling them, then they have every right to fire you. You may even have a civil suit against you if you get in a "non preventable" accident and cant prove your not at fault because the camera was disabled by you.
