I completely agree with your post. The crappy thng was the bus still had flashing yellow lights and was still moving. Plus not even children present that day. The other unfair thing was he started to just give me a warning till he saw I had an out of state license then wrote the ticket knowing I woudnt stay around to fight it. This was the first moving violation in my life. A complete testament to how many police officers take advantage of their power.

Deep I don't think you want to be a driver. Life is too "unfair" out there all the time. Besides if you have so much successful experience with another job why switch to something you don't have the patience for. It's really somewhat funny to see how you keep trying to justify your actions despite the fact that you know you broke the law.

Actually lonewolf I only work 3 months out of the year. If I want to fish any other fishery which happens in fall , winter, or spring, could easily mean a couple hundred thousand in permits and gear to get started. I have done good enough at my young age I just need something to sustain my family the rest of the year without having to use the money I make in the summer. I am an uneducated hard worker, probably like most of the people on this site who work hard with their hands daily to make due for their family. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time when I was 18 and got a shot to work for a great guy who taught me a lot. I have owned my own boat and done great for the last 11 years. To anyone who wants to make quick money Alaska is the place. Even if you dont want to go out on the ocean you can work at a processing plant and make 20,000 in three months easy. I would be more than happy to point anyone in the direction of a good job there.

I don't know which state issued you the citation, but in NC - you don't have to stop for a stopped school bus in every situation.....

I'm guessing a cop just happened to be there when it happened, chased you down and gave you the ticket? if so, maybe he was "waiting" on you, looking to make an example of you, or collect a little extra $$$ for his district? a lot of info is left out of your story. but if you did actually break the law, and not stop for those precious youngsters (who weren't present,) then you're worse than Hitler.

You passed a Stopped Big old yellow school bus :biggrin_25510: with all kinds of red lights and they had big ole AMber flashing light which come on before a stop it is a warning that they are fixng to make a stop and pick up or drop off the most precouis cargo that any driver could ever haul . I drove a school bus for 5 yrs and I always scared me to make stops if a semi was behind me I always tried to slow down and run the shoulder if there was one till the truck got by . Think that you need to try to find a job driving a school bus and then see if you can find a job as a semi truck driver .Then maybe when you see a school bus you will slow down incase they make a stop and you also can stop .

The flashing lights and stop signs are there for a reason. Motorists cannot always be for sure if a child is present or not. If you ignore those things you are taking a risk of mowing down a child. I would rather be safe than sorry.
