You'll hear that again and again, it's been beaten into dispatch's head. If you aren't hearing that you might want to suggest to your FM to get more training. I'm sure that will just cause them to get angry but they need to know what they can do to help you.Laner99 Thanks this. -
I never had any trouble getting the bonuses on the 7/7 fleet. The bonuses are adjusted for each fleet. I always had the same truck as well. My partner drove it one week and I drove it the other.Laner99 Thanks this.

ROEHL have many trucks sitting at Marshfield with APU units. Yet I got a truck that 800,000 miles on it with no APU unit. Made no sense to me at all.

With that many miles on it, you probably won't have it long. Probably just waiting to see if you're a safe driver.

You have to prove yourself before you get a newer truck. Keep your nose clean, be on time, do a good job, then ask for a better truck in a couple of months.

I don't work for Roehl anymore. The truck I had was great. I actually miss the darn thing despite not having that apu unit on the back. The truck I had didn't have the Qualcom either. It was the other system. I didn't know how to operate it and wasn't trained on it either. I was told to figure it out all on my own. In general I liked the company, but hated working with two out of every three fleet managers. -
Okay I'm really not pointing any fingers at any one person but, we all know roehl is an over the road carrier the more you go home the less miles you will get, bust ##### for 30 days then go home for a week and make good money. It's simple, oh and don't whine about small stuff just deliver the loads and keep your head down. The only time any driver should ever be on the phone with dispatch is when there is a legitimate problem. Ie truck is broke down, you don't have the correct info for your load, or enough hours to deliver it. As for the idle policy I don't know I never got a bonus but I was only a company driver for 6 months and I've always had an apu.

The guy I roomed with during orientation had two accidents on his record when he drove for Werner. They gave him a newer truck with an apu unit. A guy who was 21 started evolution the same day as I did and they gave him a truck with just over 200,000 miles on it with an apu unit. My trainers all talked to their trainers about how well I drove the truck when I was with them and how safe I was handling their trucks right in front of me. During evolution three I was on time for every assignment I had and after 20 days they promoted me to regular fleet. When I asked for a truck with an APU unit, I was denied. When I questioned the safety issue of having to sleep with my windows down at night due to the extreme heat that the midwest and south encounted last summer, I was told my safety wasn't a concern. That keeping the trucks fuel usage down was the only issue I needed to focus on. I quit that day.
