I was looking at some Schneider ads stating that on their regional accounts get you home weekly. I think it was something like 6 days out and 3 days home. I read another posting saying teams get 3 days home for every two weeks they're out. I was wondering how accurate is this information. Thanks
Does Schneider really get drivers home like they advertise on the web ?

It depends on the account, but typically, regional dedicated accounts are home every weekend. Take Home Depot for example, they don't receive on Saturday ans Sunday, so no need to be on the road.
The upside / downside is that you'll run your tail off Monday thru Friday.
OTR is another can of worms entirely. They says they'll try to get you home but, in reality, it's anyone's bet if they actually do.
SNI is a very good choice. There's a lot of opportunity to do different things, and by and large, they're a pretty decent group of folks to work for. The first 6 months can be tough, but as you learn to work with them, it gets easier and easier. Good luck.scottybones and newlife1966 Thank this. -

I guess it depends on the DBL. I'm OTR and mine seems that if I want to come home sometime within the coming weeks, I'll send her a message and she'll try to get me home within the next week or so. It entirely depends on the loads going into your area. For example, there is much more freight leaving out of California than coming in. So I'll most likely have to wait a couple of weeks before I get a load to come back home.
That said, she also stressed that if there are critical appointments that you must keep (doctor visit, etc.) they'll give you priority loads to get you back home ASAP. Unless its really important and you must do something by a certain date, expect an extra couple of weeks before they give you that load home. Work with your DBL, give them plenty of heads up to try to get you home. If you can't be home by that weekend and it makes you angry, perhaps this line of work isn't for you. It's the nature of the beast.Lady_Truck Thanks this. -
I've been with big orange for 7 months now, out of Fontana CA. Check my other threads for who I am and what I run.
Every date I have ever submitted to my dbl to be home on, I have never missed that date by more than one day, either before or after.
And I take off how ever many days I want, no matter how many days/weeks I have been out.
Every situation is different, and every dbl is different. I firmly believe your dbl makes or breaks you when working for Schneid -
The best way it works for my DBL and Me is "I wanna be home the week of****" and she tries to make that work.

Never had a problem with hometime. The only time I was late was do to a trailer problem and wasn't really anyones fault.

dbl=driver business leader. Yes most companies call them dispatchers. Same thing.

I haven't been home that much since I started with SNI (thats been my choice) but every time I have requested home time I have been there on time. It might be 11pm that night, but I'm home to sleep in my bed the night I requested.
So far I've gone by the thinking that you earn a 34-hour reset every week out, so after 3 weeks I take off 4.5 days and they seem happy to let me take this off. I've heard from other drivers taking off more time (3 weeks out, 5 full days off, etc) so like another poster here said, it really depends on your DBL. If you have a decent one they seem pretty flexible.
