I got an email asking me this question last night. I'm speaking of the Kentucky Scales both north and south bound on I-75. A reply on another thread reminded me of this. I remember those signs said Rest Haven.
Does sign say Rest Haven or Safe Haven?

Yes, they are a rest haven. But.. for future reference... on the SOUTH side you can awaken the next morning and leave without having to pass by the scale. On the NORTH side that direct exit is not provided. You have to ease by the coop windows , so make certain that you comb your hair and brush your teeth ! It's just the way they're designed.

Make sure to do your pretrip on the clock too!!!

It's rest haven. But rest or safe they mean the same thing.what I think is funny drivers will bypass a scale rest haven lol.

There was a period of about six weeks that I was doing some dedicated runs between Ohio and Mississippi several years ago. I spent maybe 10 or 12 ten hour breaks in those rest havens. Generally I noticed the DOT officers stayed out of there. But I did notice once an officer in his car driving around the parked trucks looking around and one time got out and looked at a few tires. After my break was over I always made it a point to do a good pre trip before I left.
