Does Swift have any good OTR-like dedicated accounts?

You can leave swift now or you can countinue driving for them and leave later , either way your leaving swift

 

Currently parked at the T/A in Pembroke, NY. Noticed a Diamond Driver with a 2 in their symbol parked a few trucks down from me as I type this.

 

Report that lazy driver for being parked. I call them the kiss ##### myself.

 

Get away from Swift they are nothing but bad news. Not as bad as Werner but they are up there.

 

This might piss some people off, and I understand it, the focus of hatred against the megas is combined and blamed on swift, but if you are over 55, want medical benefits, a few years to soon to retire, want a company that will work with you, even at the beginning, the recruiter was knowledgable about the dedicated accounts, the manager of the dedicated account answered ALL my questions, the pay is fair to start, I told them my needs and they were willing to listen, not just ignore, or change the subject. They don't force per diem, NO sleeper facing in cab video cams. Have new or newer equipment. It looks like Swift has got the job I want. Not the job YOU want, the job I want. Dedicated account, not just slam the USA OTR, I did that, it only worked for me as a Team however, to many short runs, to much alone time as a solo driver, plus you can get home faster for hometime, on a team. and you keep moving until you get home, for the most part. Teams don't work out in the long term because people have seperate lives, needs, goals, wants, and that is hard to adjust to and over time it will collapse. Plus the Trucks are too small. Even the big volvo isn't big enough. You don't need the moving and storage company bunkhouse, but 50% bigger than the big volvo would be about right. I know the Weight is an issue, make bigger tires for these trucks. Trucking Companies should order bigger sleeper trucks and then Teams can drive 1000 out and 1000 back, 75 MPH governor, use your phone for your ELD, take it with you when you are out of the truck, take a day off. Repeat that loop. You don't have to pack a lot, your coming right back. Oh well, you need to search and make those determinations for you and your life. Sometimes just where you live will effectively put you in a Box on what positions you can work. Just your location. Then, do you have a family or not. Do you want to live in the truck basically. Are you desperate for money, more than a walmart worker, fast food job, amazon dc can pay, you have thrown your money away, you had a drug habit and finally figured out that is not going to work for you. Then otr is probably ok? You have a great dog to travel with, maybe. I didn't have time to take a pet, I saw a couple of drivers with more than one dog, and big dogs at that. There are all kinds of people out there folks. I jumped into trucking but I was single and the town I was in only had a casino to work at when my career career ended. I tried that, the go through so many people at those loser places. Native American casinos are kind of bigoted and racist to work at, but if you have done that job you know that. The first day of Orientation they show you a video about how racist Columbus was, how he opened the door to Christianity, how horrible the natives were treated. Like YOU yourself sitting there can CHANGE that.? You talk about BS. Anyways, I hav worked in many industries. I know the rotten ones. Remember drivers. You can give NOTICE. I do not apply to companies that can't answer my questions clearly, and effectively. I like using TTR Forums for the most part, good company stuff here, but you have to match your needs to the company, and somethimes its NOT the crowd favorite. Before Swift it was JB Hunt that was the cause of all the truck drivers problems in the USA, now its Swift. So that alone is reason to be quiet about Swift or the megas. Just do the Best YOU can, and give notice when its time to move on. Get your own Truck if that's the case. Then its all on YOU. I have seen O/O jacked up all over the USA, one stuck on a telephone utitily box, back over it and lifted the flat bed up in the air like a real smart guy. Have a nice day today. I think Swift has better management than werner, schneider, marten, mvt, england, pride, navaho, etc etc etc. They might absorb many of these as they improve and look better and better for Amazon to buy in 10 years or so. I will be all done in 3 years. Its going to be up to our little flip flop wearing college students learning to hate the USA by then. Please Lord Jesus correct these foolish children on the path to hades.
