Depends upon how comfortable you're with the truck you're driving.
Starting off fresh, I could see that. A seasoned driver that knows his timing, sounds or feel of the engine... Nah.
Not having a shiftable transmission to listen to would probably distract me even more!
Does the fear of hitting and/or killing something/someone go away?

Drive local long enough and it will go from a "fear of" to "wanting to"!

But you need to work on your weak spot that makes you most nervous. It was shifting for me so I practiced it alot. -
I am more worried about people trying to kill me.

Your in a truck! You have a better chance of killing yourself.

The fear does go away. I use to fear deer and San Francisco driving lol.now I can't remember the last time I had that dropped stomach feeling when I run someone over in their Jetta or bumper cars people, who cut me off under the speed limit.etc lol

The worst offenders are those idiots in "smartcars."
You know, these silly things?
Yeah...they turn into this:
There's even a Facebook picture that reads, "I hit a deer in my smart car. The deer laughed and walked away."
Can't count the number of times they've zipped right past me and merged between a swifty that cut me off just moments ago and I... -
The small the brave the stupid. Farm animals have more common sense.
Vilhiem Thanks this. -
