Yes, you see this kind of stupidity every day. As the 'professional', you can't let it get to your head. I'm to the point that I won't even hit the brakes or honk my horn anymore. If someone wants to drive like an idiot and hits my truck, all it is to me is a matter of paperwork.
Does this kind of crap happen on the road frequently?

Cold and corny. -
as a truck driver, if it didnt happen to you at least twice today, then it was a very good day.
TRKRSHONEY and Ghost Ryder Thank this. -
Yes you see this everyday. Many 4 wheelers don't look much further than the end of their hood and are ignorant to the level of driving we know. There was no reason for that truck driver to cut him off other than being a butt himself. He knew he had to come over and should of been courteous and took his fat foot off the throttle. It wouldn't of killed him. Then he continued to tailgate after it happened instead of correcting the situation. It's not a perfect world out there. A driver makes thousands of decisions everyday. How you make them decisions is what matters. His decision was video camera in hand, watch this instead of fixing a bad situation. With his childish sounds I'd say he does other stupid stuff.

Some of these idiots do that stuff with their kids in the back seat. Just know this, if you cut your wheels, it will be your kids and family that get hurt. If you die from cutting your wheels, the coroner and the ambulance will just look at you like a piece of meat like we look at road kill. If you live, you will get the biggest stupid ticket imaginable, and will have a really hard time ever getting a decent driving job ever again. There's so much stupid stuff that happens on the road, you wouldn't believe it. I remember driving through Charlotte,NC one night and this SUV cut me off to get off the big road. Fine. Happens at every exit in every city. The thing is, about this one, there was a kid on the roof car surfing. He got pitched off the roof when the SUV braked and swerved right. Idiots never want to just die alone, they always seem to try to get others involved. Imagine how safe the world would be if they legalized Russian roulette.
TRKRSHONEY, Pameee and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
I want to be a safe driver because I want the company to be able to rely on me so I get more loads but when people just outright slam on their brakes in front of you and at worst coming at a complete stop, that can be a real serious hazard! I see why there's accidents on the highway everyday, garbage like this! One time coming out of McDonalds in my personal car, I almost got hit in the drive thru! I had an option of letting the car hit me at 20 mph or completely stopping. I have my CDL and dont want any dings on my record! I'm definitely getting a dash cam because without it, the evidence is not there and im sure they'll buy the civilians story over mine when I'm driving a truck!

Some people don't value life :/

Hey pharrari-How are you? They won't automatically believe the driver of the car's "story".There is certain evidence that can tell them what happened.I drove wreckers for many years.I watched and talked to accident investigators waiting to clean up wrecks.I have no experience with one though a dash cam aimed in the right direction could help.So will the "Smith system" idea.So will being very aware of who and what's around you.Riding motorcycles helped with that.
The idea of being safe is a very good one.Yeah, you will have more consistant work being safe compared to not being so.The best part of it,to me,is at the end of the day, week, month, year, career you know you were safe and did a credible job because you set out to that. What my company expects out of me is far lower than what i expect out of me.I hope you get to where you want to be in this business.Take care.BrianNavigatorWife and pharrari Thank this.
