Does this kind of crap happen on the road frequently?

When that dash cam gets you a ticket for following too close come back and tell us all how it works out for you. That driver made several mistakes...when the driver of the car continued to stay in the right lane the trucker should have given him the extra room to do just what he did...sure the driver of the car did something really stupid..but in that situation the trucker should have shown a little patience and expected the UN-expected...by that I mean drive defensively.... and that cowboy stunt of tailgating could have gotten somebody killed that video shows a good example of what not to do when you are behind the wheel of a semi.....

Good habits become second nature and keep you and those around you safe. You can get away with a bad habit 10 years but one day it will bite you in the butt if that's the way you roll. Since you are out there for life you have to drive for the long haul so to speak.

As a new driver in an 80,000 lb vehicle you'll learn how to scan and read traffic further than you ever thought of. You'll learn how to protect your space and leave yourself outs.

You'll see a lot of bad out there. Just be your own driver and do what you are taught. Also there is a lot of monkey see monkey do out there. Don't pick up others bad habits and you'll do just fine.

I get entertained by these drivers that are overly aggressive. Gotta go go go. They don't deliver any quicker. Eventially you learn good time management and the tortoise beats the hare every time. :)

In Ohio they have a law that cutting in front of semis too closely is a ticket-able offense. If the plates of that vehicle are legible in any of the video, submitting it to authorities might be enough evidence to go forward with the ticketing.

And by the actions witnessed I would hope that other charges would be, uh... charged. It sure seemed like they were spiteful, and reckless maneuvers.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of 4 wheelers who cut over as soon as their rear end clears the nose of my truck because someone is tailgating then.

Do they really think that BMW behind them is A) going to ram them if they do not clear the lane immediately amd B) that said BMW rear ending them is going to do less damage than this fully loaded Kenworth?

Had the same thing happen to me in California. A car was getting on the on ramp and i couldn't get over so the car had to tap its brakes. The driver of the car then raced around me and cut me off. If i hadnt jammed my brakes, his little car would b no more. I don't understand some ppls frame of mind :/

What is the "Smith System" ?

Aren't a lot of these driver videos done with helmet or eyeglass cam's? For the life of me, I can't see holding a camera and driving at the same time.

I'm not a trucker yet, just a student, but from 38 years of auto driving it seems to me that the trucker let the other person take control of the situation by pushing the trucker's buttons...rather than the trucker keeping control over the situation by staying cool. "He made me so mad I had to do it" doesn't often fly as an excuse.

You can't prevent all accidents. If you cut me off and hit the brakes to exit the road without giving me enough time to stop safely, I'd rather hit you instead of risking a jacknife, sideswipe, rollover, etc avoiding you.

I'm not saying I'm out to get you, so don't get the wrong idea. This is what I'm saying: drive like a idiot and we will meet (better have good insurance). Drive sensably and we won't have a problem.

He was not holding the camera, the camera is mounted to the windshield similar to GPS mounts.

Getting ticked off like that only invites road rage. This is going to happen to you every-day, multiple times a day. You're better off just ignoring the idiots on the road and letting them do their thing.
