Yes TMC uses paper logs. They do however keep track of your activity with the qualcomm and watch for people driving over their hours.

they will test paperless logs on 50 trucks, then make it their official policy to use them, then not pay the paperless log company, then lie about why they are going back to paper logs, all within a 6 month span.

ok I was somewhat kidding but for the time being they seem perfectly happy with paper logs.

Paper logs are the best. I just talked to TMC last week and they still use paper logs!

Paper logs are definitely better than paperless. I haven't used them, but my hubby has. He was parked at a truck stop one night, and ended up being parked in a bit of a goofy spot. Moved his truck in the morning and the paperless log system logged him as line 3 when all he did was move across the parking lot without leaving 1st gear. He had crossed some grid line that the system uses.

It may be a bit of a hassle drawing those lines, but I trust my pen and brain better than some computer.

No I totally agree and one of the reasons I am going to work for TMC is for the fact that almost everywhere else I want to work has paperless.

Me too. I cant even count how many times paper logs have screwed me over. One time it bumped me to line 4, and i would have otherwise gotten a 10 hr break in a shop (i was in the sleeper and went off duty a couple of times...i was legal), but since i sent a message at one point telling dispatcdh it was taking a while...they wouldnt make the fix for me.

I work for a QC affiliate and we have paper, and no qualcomms (but i think QC company trucks do have qcs). But you probably lack the 1 year experience we require if you wanna work for TMC.

I dont know where you are getting the 1 year needed to work there for one and two I am actually pre hired there and I still have 3 months left on my Marine Corp contract before I can get out.

I also have about 17 months of commercial driving before I joined. I did hotshotting, reefer, and specialized freight(Race and show horses).

I know they hire students with 0 experience so.....

What do you mean you work for a QC affiliate but you dont have QCs? That does not make much sense to me. I can unstand the paper logs and having QCs since that what I did when I work for Prime for 1 YEAR.
