    Third choice is neither he thinks a couple finger widths on map is a few hours till you tell him it’s 500 miles

    They use pc miler and whatever the computer say. I don’t think they even look at the map.

    It's two inches apart on the wall map. You should be able to do that. Half of our drivers do.

    Does your dispatch still use a map?
    Not sure what you mean? "Dispatch" is a usually a separate entity and often disconnected with reality.

    That was my early 2000's dispatch. Now the use Google and car routes. "It's only (insert mileage)" my reply"with a multi thousand dollar fine that way"

    They calculate the route as though you are driving a class C car at 86MPH on the freeway. "The computer says it only takes 3 hours to go from Phoenix to L.A. so you should be good with the hours you have left."

    With Max weight permit and an oversized route. Actually when that was the case my dispatcher had a clue
