Blood pressure and pulse increases occur within the driver of the emergency vehicle as well, even in the most controlled environments.

But it's really fun to be called to that house waaaaaayyy up in the boonies with nothing but a dirt track to follow with the rescue truck, an F550 with 400 gallons of water on board along with all the medical stuff...after a three day rain on a 10% grade and with branched smacking the windshield the whole way up, all the while getting updates from dispatch that the patient is sinking.

    Fun times... *nostalgic stare*

You make my point! Though I asked for positive input concerning trucking, we still get a diatribe of mostly "complaining" drivers. I have however gained an insight as to "why" they continue the careers that they seem to loathe. Thanks to those that have responded with some positive insight into trucking, as I had desired. There are some that actually enjoy trucking, so thanks to all for their feedback. There is a post (I believe) that is for truckers stress relief and complaints. I guess it's just a "safety in numbers" issue that brings out the criticism of the industry by the majority.

I get after people for doing that and it's caused a few heated arguments. The law doesn't say to stop in the middle of the road, it says to get out of the way. Drives me up the wall if someone I'm riding with just stops in the way and they get an earful of my opinion about it.

Ike, he's just another wannabe driver looking for something to piss and moan about. He made his mistake when he decided to whine and b**** and complain about truckers on a trucker forum. He bit off more than he can chew. :biggrin_2559:

Row Ashore and KE5WDP Thank this.

Belong wherever you want to belong. Just trying to save "another starry eyed newb".

Thank you for working for minimum wage. Goes a long ways on my weekly grocery store trips.

Once your in I would be your best friend. But I will do my best to discourage anyone from getting into the ripoff racket. Consider this. This is the only traveling job away from home that does not pay per diem. Traveling jobs are the best paying out there most of the time for skilled labor. All except trucking.

A Swift driver stole my tools.

I'll take elitist as a compliment.
All I try to do is save people a lot of grief. I am up against a lot of six month super truckers and million dollar marketing companies. I enjoy reading the stories but I can assure you I have better things to do with my time and my main goal is to discourage people who are on the fence. As I have said before. The people that have the skills, abilities and brains to do this can make more money doing other things and will live longer.

It's just a sign of the times. There used to be nice places to stop and eat and hang out. Now 99 percent of even the best places, if they are even still in business are garbage dumps. The job has no redeeming qualities now for the first number of years. Then after that you don't have a whole lot.
