in another dog thread I posted the dog porch - 2 x 3 plywood with hooks that goes over top step + hooks in back.
weight keeps it there.
My dog is big @154 lbs.and can't get on the little steps; two jumps, one onto porch, and one into cab is easier.
Someone said they wanted a ramp for a little dog.
No problem.
Same porch - and add ramp facing rearward that hooks over porch.
(Can you tell I am a dog lover?) -
I suspected he was a good dog. He turned out to be a great dog. He loves everybody and has no clue why people are a bit intimidated by him lol. His Mom's bunny loves the big 80lb pit -
All i could do was look at her and say 'WTF you just say?!?' Lol. -
No critters are allowed on the furniture at my house. Even the jump seat in my truck, I pulled the OEM padded seat off the base and built one out of plywood and carpet before my dog was allowed to sit there. I've seen what dogs like to roll around in...and I'm not having any of that on my furniture.

Unfortunatley it was a truck cat that thrived on that dash sunning itself in the ever changing noise and scenery. Take it home for a week and it could not stand the quiet. It got worse when it loved to me in my lap for 300 miles then learned to roll the side window down at 70 with a paw. It had to GO.
I remember a trucker with a boxer. That is about as big as they go. I don't know what a boxer eats daily but he was concerned about money to feed it rather than for himself. You might want to keep that in mind.
Others have spoke about desiel fumes and other challenges in some of the industry we go into. The air quality is not going to be that good. And if you have to cross a mountain at 12,000 feet and your dog is not able to get the air... I don't know enough to write. All I had was a shepard or two in my life time regarding dogs, they were not trouble at all. They chilled most of the time provided you were chilling also.BigTennOTR Thanks this. -
Smart dogs and they are just happy to be with you no matter where you go! -
Get a basset hound
-
Get an English Mastiff that way you can also get your upper body workout in while you help it in and out of the truck.
