It would appear to me the starting wattage needed would be a monster, it says it wants about 10 to 12 amps at 120 volts 50-60 cycles. I don't know what sort of inverter can be built into the truck capable of starting this unit in terms of wattage. Also you would think by reversing the situation you will have what is called a heat pump. I don't know. These are just my thoughts.
It is necessary to be able to cool and heat a truck cab and sleeper in any weather from -70 on up to +140 and keep a human safe. Trucking companies that do not idle or fail to provide for this most important item are something that is wrong with them and should not be in business.
