That'll buff out.
How did he clear the first five beams?Nothereoften, Oxbow, Crusader66 and 3 others Thank this. -
Saw that in person today. They aren’t expected to get the truck out until sometime tomorrow. May not be able to open traffic over the bridge until bridge is replaced, State is seeing if they can patch it up temporarily.
It is a main artery though Nashville, if that bridge is down until replacement, avoid Nashville if you can.
Going to cost that outfit. Looks like they just bought a bridge, a Cat truck, and whatever fines and removal cost are.Nothereoften, misterG, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this. -
Word i got is he wasnt even permitted
Crusader66, Bean Jr., tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
I know that bridge, the road is going up, so the last beam is shorter. The road also has some bank to it, he may have made it if he was in the other lane.
Bridge is marked 14’. He was off his permit route. Anybody that’s ever been through Nashville knows that you don’t take a tall load through downtown, several 14’ bridges. If he made it through that one, he had several more low bridges to get under.Oxbow, stwik, DozerCowboy and 5 others Thank this. -
I hadn’t heard that. No way his permit would have routed him that way.bryan21384, Oxbow, Crusader66 and 1 other person Thank this.

"He didn't have the proper permit to drive in this area," said THP Sgt. Charlie Caplinger. "The company and drivers are at fault. TDOT didn't issue them a permit to be in this area. He wouldn't have been routed this way."Oxbow, Crusader66 and johndeere4020 Thank this.

Hell they even give you maps of the area when you receive permit on where not to go !!
peterbilt_2005, Oxbow, Crusader66 and 2 others Thank this. -
Man is HE in trouble! Bet he started crying as he lifted his left leg to kiss his arse goodbye.
Day cab? It says in the article that the driver didn’t have proper endorsement. That will sink a small company, because the insurance company is going to fight tooth and nail to avoid the claim. Tennessee doesn’t route you for the smaller loads, but the bigger loads have to use Briley Parkway. Heck, the last one I pulled through the area, they routed me on the 840 ( which I didn’t mind a bit)Last edited: Apr 27, 2018
