I always figured they were just a swift company by another name.

Yeah the old "We've been trusted for over thirty years" advert will always draw in a few suckers. Its like the company I currently work for I happened to hear a radio add about coming over to drive for them, saying something like " At xyz we treat our drivers with respect"
I thought you've got to be kidding me total baloney.

Or when those mega companies advertise " over here , we treat you like family ! You're a name not a number" .. Yeah ok you have like 5000 trucks. :biggrin_25523:

As crazy as it seems, some of us prefer being a number (as long as treated fair and professionally).

    Boondock and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I can definitely see the appeal of it ! Sometimes it's not a bad thing to just fly under the radar at all times and do what you do... I definitely do better in that atmosphere than I do at playing office politics and brown nosing

Sometimes that's the way to go. I have a night tanker driver that I literally never see. The truck is dispatched by the customer and the drivers switch shifts at the tank farm. If the truck comes in for shop work it's usually Sunday when it doesn't run. Our shop goes 24/7.
The driver has been working for us for just over ten years and the last time I actually saw him was five years ago at the company picnic. We had a good laugh over that.
He might be a real ######## ( I doubt it) but his work is flawless and we never get complaints about him. That's like finding gold in this business.

You described it better than I blurted out. That’s exactly it.
