I'm proud to say that I've past my 1st year anniversary earlier this month in the trucking industry!

What better way to start your driving than hauling liquid chemicals?

CTL Transportation was far from perfect. I would only recommend them if you are 21yrs old with absolutely no experience and you're looking into pulling tanks down the road.

Now I'm narrowing down my next company!

    *OTR company driver positions only

    I've been accepted
    Kuhnle Bros.
    Caledonia Haulers
    Fort Transfer
    Team Transport (Sherman Bros.)
    Slay
    CC Cobb
    Poly Trucking (dry van option)
    Waggoners Trucking (carhauling option)

    Thinking about applying to
    Superior Carriers
    Altom
    Continental Carbonic (dry van option)
    Liquid Cargo
Smith Transport (tanker or dry van)
    Clean Harbors
    BP Express (dry van option)
    John N John

*Note I asked the recruiter about Trimac's Elite Fleet, but they require 5 years overall experience and 1 year tanker. Can @ethos confirm this?

I'll post the pay packages/benefits and orientation info of the companies who gave me that info.

My top two choices are Kuhnle Bros. and Caledonia Haulers by a bit, with a lean towards Kuhnle.

I'm 22 years old with 1 year of OTR chemical tanker experience and a near perfect record!

I'm just amazed on how I got accepted to companies in which I haven't met the minimum requirements.
My age didn't seem to matter when I told them I hauled hazmat chemicals for a year!

Slay and Team Transport made an exception for me due to having a good MVR and knowledge on how to pump/air off and load a tanker.
John N John was also considering accepting me if I applied.

I'm so excited about all the options I have! What HUGE difference a year makes!

Whats your thoughts on these companies?

I'm open to any suggestion and info on them!

Going by what I have read and heard, if you have a good mvr and dac, I'd go with Superior.

How much do Superior drivers tend to make a year?

I like to stay out 4 - 5 weeks at a time and run as much as I can

Superior, because they really are. If I wanted to go OTR again, I'd call them first.

I'm hauling gasoline day shift now, and Mrs Skillet is glad to have me home at night, finally, after 18 years of night work. So no OTR for me.(yet!):p

Well i don't think my numbers will be on par for you because I'm a cry baby after 3-4 days of not seeing the house I'm begging to go home and I work from the yard more than I'm out. But I've been averaging about 1350-1400 a week and every week I've spent 6 or more days out never had a gross less than 1600.

Well that makes me feel horrible about my pay with CTL (grossed on avg. $1000 a week).

Kuhnle bros. recruiter said I should expect my pay at $1500 - $1800 a week.
    Caledonia said $1300 - $1500 a week.
