I paid $4995, worth every penny in my opinion. But the school I went to wasn't just a fly by night cdl mill

The technical college 3 hours from my house was $1800. But they didn't offer financing. I pre-paid for my school half way, then they financed the other half.

The technical college uses the trucks at the school I went to for their actual testing anyway lol. Plus I already had set up with my school. I'm glad I went there.
I'm going to an open house in April to talk to people about going to the school if their interested in getting into trucking. How many people would do that for the school they went to?

I'm also gonna talk to them about working for Roehl. I know while in school id rather an actual company driver come and tell me the truth about a company I was interested in rather than a recruiter who will promise you the world. Roehl told me they were fine with it but I won't be paid for it if students decided to go work for them. I didn't have a problem with it. Also, before anyone asks, the school isn't paying me anything to do it either lol.

That's the going rate now a days. At least for an accredited school.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I chose the one i did. Their nationally accredited so that some states recognize them. We had 2 people from Texas and one from north Carolina. They were able to take their certificates to those states and get their cdl in their home state without having to re-test

The school I'm attending is accredited. In-State resident tuition is $980, books and supplies brought the total up to around $1100. Course is 8 weeks, 380 hours, and I get 12 semester hours credit towards an associate degree. And no need to test at the DMV, testing is done in-house by their own examiners.

I also liked my school cuz you did all the book work online at your own pace. Then when you go to the onsite training for three weeks there's only an hour of class time each day for log books and tests.

Good call. The school I went to cost around 5200. Well worth it in my opinion especially when you consider that I didn't have to pay a single cent out of my own pocket due to a state grant that paid it for me. :) If I would have had to pay for it, I still would have taken the course.

Soooo...based your logic, are all OTR people stupid?
That's what it sounds like you are saying.
Perhaps some people just like it?
Perhaps there is more to life than just money?
