Yes they would and a solid rubber tire would probably weigh close to a 1000 lbs each. Lots of unstrung weight. Not to mention trying to stop a mass with that much momentum. Forklift tires that are solid are extremely heavy. Some of the duals about 19.5 tire size are close to 600 lbs each. Yes and anything over about 15 mph is a very bouncy ride

Y'all have motivated me to design a better tire. In five years if you're still driving you will know my name because it will be on the side of your tires. I love you guys!

Please NEVER do this. Never use heat to seat a bead:
i'm definitely not a tire expert, but i do have some experience changing truck tires as i use to hang around O/O's. The air blaster thingy is ok for seating, but i prefer tire doughnuts which is a basically a rubber ring that fits snug around the rim and tire. This creates a temporary "seal" between rim and tire. As you air it up the doughnut eventually pops out.

Does anybody weld to seat a bead?
IMO, the best way to seat a bead, and have it centered, is an air bead blaster. Yeah, I'll use ether in a pinch, but I've done it once or twice.FerrissWheel and Oxbow Thank this. -
