Do we really want someone that unhinged behind the wheel of a truck?.

Driver temp services, sometimes called "driver leasing companies" don't train. They provide drivers to trucking companies. @Chinatown's idea of using them to get your long time off is an excellent idea. You can work for multiple trucking companies & see shich ones you like or don't like without generating a job-hopper job history.

    NYCNick and Chinatown Thank this.

But I'm guessing you and @Chinatown would recommend going with at least one company for a training period at least 6 months or so? Unless there's an off chance the driver leasing companies would just throw me out there with my Class A and 0 OTR time...which seems unthinkable from everything I'm reading here.

Yes, go with a company first to gain a little experience, then when it's time to move on, sign on with a temp service. Some temp services won't sign on a new cdl grad, so a few months experience will do.

    NYCNick Thanks this.
