    I agree with you.

One night on my way out of CA in a line of about 7 trucks we had a "encounter" with emergency workers on the shoulder.

Truck #1 hits his markers, signals left and almost in unision the entire troop of seven changed lanes. It was like we practiced it.

Well, up behind is coming Super Tuner and he cannot see what we see so truck # 7 has the flashers on. Super Tuner must have decided that meant hit lane #2 and go as fast as you can into a left bend.

Well, as Super Tuner came up on truck #4 that truck hit the horn to warn the:

    Tow truck - fully lit
    Stranded Car - unlit
CHP Unit #1 - Fully lit
CHP Unit #2 - Fully lit
CHP Motor #1 - Fully lit

Everyone was standing outside the vehicles and on the shoulder. Not good.

I would guess Super Tuner passed them just over 90+ making all sorts of noise.

Almost in unision again all 7 trucks hit the Left Turn Signal and flash the markers to let the now very mobile CHP Motor #1 know we see him and are not moving from our positions.

It was a caucaphony of Air Horns as we passed CHP motor #1 and Super Tuner about 2 miles up the road ... we passed in the #1 lane of course.

Somedays Justice is served up pipin' hot.

I move over all the time. It's not worth the risk of someone stumbling into your truck or who know what could happen. I

f Risk is over there, I'll be over here.

Go out at night on the accidents and you run the risk of the dui hitting you.

One of the area departments had a drunk run up on the scene and put one of the volunteers in the hospital and out of work for months.

One of the reasons that when I drive, I place the truck between the accident and the traffic. Many of the volunteers just do not understand safety.

    Oh yeah, absolutely.

I'm not sure how EMS works in those regards, but on road projects, it's the Flagger who performs the role you have to truck perform, only we have to play chicken and sound the alarm for the other guys to GTFOOTW.

In some cases, we'll put another truck between the flagger, and the crew working.

    But yes, Drunks are no-good.

The person in the lead car of that column, was the one man of four.

That last dude who was the super tuner, is amongst the three of four.

That last dude, is who get's guys working by/near a road killed.
