    No. I've never worked there. They have always had a terrible reputation.

    Personally, I have 1 cdl, it is clean, and staying that way.

    Working at outfits like this, puts your license in jeopardy.

    Why add any more risk to this job, if you can control it ?

    Google shows there are over 500,000 trucking companies in the USA. Drivers working there and complaining, why did you choose PTL when you had over 500,000 companies to choose from? Is it because PTL is the only company that would give you a chance to get you back on the road due to leaving trucking or some legal issues? If so, you should appreciate it. A good analogy is, you wine and dine a woman to get what you want, then after she gives you what you want, you call her a slut.

    Keep it in perspective; if PTL is so horrible, why are you working there? There are 499,999 other companies to choose from, so why do you remain with PTL?

    Hey, we're in a similar situation. I only have 8 months exp. which was at Schneider (Atlanta was my OC). Got into a few very minor accidents, and lost the job. Now only a very few companies will hire me, the others say I need to put in 6 months safe driving with another company 1st. It's pretty much down to PTL and Swift for me now. Both have orientation this coming Monday so I'm gonna decide in the next couple of days, or tomorrow. I gotta take that bus from Columbus, GA to Murray, KY for PTL (470+ miles) yours is about 540 miles, so I feel you on the looong bus ride! Also I'm expecting PTL and Swift to be kinda crappy, or maybe not even as good as Schneider, but gotta do my time, so it is what it is. Anything better than that would just be a blessing. I do look foward to having an APU in my truck. The lack of one with my Schneider caused problems! If you end up going to PTL let me know if you'll be going at the same time as me.

    well I have about 2 years otr but im leaning towards PTL because they have nice trucks and apu's and also my friend worked there and enjoyed it. so I think my choice is set but he made good money with them so that's all the reason I need, and theres nothing wrong with swift, they don't have apu's but I have heard they have good miles but the pay kinda sucks even after putting your time in with them but that's all here say so ya never know really, but let me know what you choose and when your headed out

    You are correct, doing proper pre/post trips will definetly help keep you out of trouble.

    Just remember your company has a target pinned to their chest, and DOT is aiming for it.

    I feel it is very important to control as many risk as possible. So to me, where you work makes a big difference.

    But a company that has always had a bad reputation,

    just sends reds flags up in the air, to me.

    Your mind is set, keep your stuf straight, you should be OK.

    But it does make me wonder,

    why do so many of their drivers have a suspended cdl ?

    You are on the edge,

    that is an awful position to be in.

    So, you're basically going there because you HAVE to.

    Swift has way better safety record, but I hear you on the APU !!

    Put your year in, and bail.
