This was my first company. When I was training with them for the first eight weeks everything seemed fine The best thing I can say is that their training program is really good. But it all started to go downhill as soon as got my first truck. As soon as I left orientation I was automatically on break down for two weeks. And for the next two months I was in breakdown every week. They claimed they had new equipment. I was not making any money with this company I made more money with training pay then when I was on my own. My terminal was based at new Kingstown Pennsylvania. A lot of other drivers have told me that this company was a good company on their downfall. If you're looking for home time then go to their dedicated Walmart fleet but if you want to make money then I suggest you stay away from this company. I was on break down once per week. They told me the best they can do

What did you expect coming into this industry young-blood.... a silver spoon ? My advice is weather the storm, my first year with Crete I was in 4 different trucks.
-
I remember when I started with Crete back in 07. It took me 4 days to get my truck finally out of the shop and road worthy.

Don't ever post ANYTHING bad about a company on this website. Whatever anyones problem with the company is, its NEVER good enough.
If the owner of Crete cut your arm off...your fellow drivers will still blame you.
This isn't a place to vent about companies dontcha know.Dna Mach, Frank Speak, M T and 2 others Thank this. -
Сrete Carrier? Alvin Wilkerson? Is he down as a rehire by the way (once he gets out)?

I'm still at Crete (20 months), and I had a streak last summer when the bunk AC in my ProStar went out every 10 days, just like clockwork. This included four times AFTER the entire unit was replaced. So bad streaks can happen. But I'm still here, and things have smoothed out.
But in regards to a company not being what it once was....that's almost universal. The new Harvard Business School approach to trucking is in, taking care of drivers is out (Tonn Ostergaard, our fearless leader, is a HBS grad). -
I have had the worst luck with breaking down with my current truck but I have never sat more than 4 days. And after 3 days (or sooner) I have been offered a swap. Plus the reason I have my current truck is because my old truck was going in for bunk air issues and it would be four days before they even got it into the shop. I went inside and asked for a swap. they confirmed the delay and I was in a new truck by nightfall.
